I need information to aid in the purchase of a stator for my two-wheel drive 96 Fourtrax 300. Websites list more than one stator, with little information to aid in the purchase of the stator. My VIN is 478TE1404TA805716. There appears to be at least two different models; an "A" model and an "AN" model (the stator is different for both). I do no believe my ATV is the EX model.

I appreciate any help in determining the correct stator. Most of the discounted stators found online are for the EX model. If you have a purchase source, I would appreciate that information also.

 

Yes your bike is a 1996 TRX300 ... There are 2 different stators for that bike and they are different sizes .. 1 is mitsuba and the other is ND ..
Usually if it has an ND starter it has an ND stator but the starter could have been changed over the years .. If you remove the starter reduction cover & starter reduction gears then slowly turn the flywheel shining a flashlight on the side of the flywheel you will see either Mitsuba or ND stamped into the flywheel ..
