potentially dumb question about brakes
#1
ok, so this is my first post here and I did the obligatory search for a similar topic.
feel free to call me a dumba$$ as long as you answer my question while doing so
I'm in the process of rebuilding/replacing my front brakes on my 86 TRX200. One of many tasks that need to be done.
I've taken the hoses off and in the process of putting them back on I was trying to line the brake bolt hole(s) with the hose line but its almost impossible for me to tighten the lines and line up the holes.
Will the brake fluid flow thru the lines if the holes in the bolt aren't line up with the main body of the brake line? (thats the potentially dumb question)

thanks for the responses guys.
any sure fire way to tell if your master cylinder needs a rebuild?
I started out getting the bubbles when I pumped it but it was slowly going back into place. After several pumps, the assembly(?) moves freely back but no bubbles. I've loosened the bleeder screw and even tried using the one man bleeder bottle but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Considering the size of the calipers, I would think the resovoir would be going down pretty fast.
If I just disconnect the brake line coming from the master cylinder and just pump I should see fluid freely flowing out of the hole, correct? That would be a good indication that the cylinder is doing its job?
I know there have been several discussions about this so I'm going to go back and search but any insight would be helpful.
note: never mind - I think I've found enough information here to figure it out.
