Default Hello Everyone

I bought a new 08 Rubicon and I have a question about it. When I go over about 45 it sounds like the engine is going to come apart. It's a hard metal knocking type of rattle and seems to come more from the right side of the engine. Has anyone here experienced this?

Metal knocking sound? That's probably something other than valves.

Assuming it's under warranty, take it to the dealership...

I guess I would call it more like engine mechanical clatter.

A bit of clatter sounds more like valves.

Also, even when properly adjusted, a bit of mechanical noise is normal on these motors.

mine has a hundred hours on it now and yes it does make some noise. what is acceptable and what is excessive? i would describe it as a clattering type of noise. its kinda the nature of the beast with these bikes. the polaris i have is very quiet compered to the honda.

Without being able to listen to it in person, it would be tough to say what is normal and what isn't...

As long as it isn't extremely loud, and you know that the valve adjustment is properly set, I probably wouldn't worry about it.
