I have an 87 250x and am wanting to run either 250r or 400ex a-arms and shocks on the front and a 350x swingarm. Will I have to buy an aftermarket axle or could I use a complete 350x swingarm, axle, etc.?I saw a complete 350x rearend on ebay but wanted input on what I would need before I bid on it.I want the same width in both the front and back.I also want another set of fenders but cant ever get any input on what will work.I was told a 400ex rear set would work but would I have to modify my front fenders to accompany the rear 400ex fenders? And would the 400ex seat fit against my gastank correctly or would I have to make my 250x seat work?I was wondering where I could get info on a 250r or 400ex fender switch on a 250x so I would have something to look at or go by but have had no luck.Anyone know a site with pics of this being done. Also I want a 400ex stock exhaust but dont know what is involved in getting that to work.Im not really worried about hopping the motor up yet but want to get the look out of the way first, then since my motor is still in good shape, wait until it goes bad before I juice it up.If I do juice it up a bit,I want to do it with as little money as possible since I have a kid on the way.Can my cdi box be modified without having to modify the engine or carb?Sorry for such a long post but that I wanted to ask as many questions as possible without making alot of posts. Also I have a unifilter and 5 1"holes in my airbox lid and want to know if there are any more air box mods that I have overlooked. Thanks a bunch for all the info.Hasta.

the 350X rearend, you have to use everything 350x. No 300ex a parts work on it.

visit my site for information on the 400ex a-arms stuff.

let me know what you think about it! I need feedback on how to make it better..it has no graphics yet..just pictures of the converision in processes

On the a-arms, it may be cheaper if you went with the R arms.. If you get the year of arm with the larger bushing you will need to get the Nylon bushing and then grind them down some unitl the fit in your a-arms slots. Also, you will either need to make a new bracket for the shocks or order some aftermarket units. I would go witht he aftermarket shocks since the will give you a better ride and performance. Works can make you a set of shocks that will fit with the stock X mount and the R arms.(that is what I got)

With the 350X set-up, I heard you have to space out where the swingarm mounts to the frame and you have to use all 350X stuff on the swingarm(ex: axle, carrier, etc)

CDI box: I think the only thing they do to this is up the Rev limiter and on a stock unpiped bike, that isn't going to help you much..

400EX Pipe: You will have to get a new head pipe made or yuo stock headpipe modified ot adapt to the 400 muffler. To really gain performance out of a pipe on a 250X you need to get a larger head pipe. You would probably be better off buying and aftermarket exhaust system with muffler and headpipe for the best HP gains.

Plastics: cant help ya there, dont know anyone who has done this..
