i have a 86 trx200sx that i am currently tring to rebuild but i cant find parts for....i was just wondering if anybody can please tell me if they know what other 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, etc would interchange with my top end....ps i was just wondering if a 86-88 atc200x cam would work in my engine.

 

As for top end parts, your engine shares the same topend as the
1986-1987 ATC200X and the 1990-1997 TRX 200.

The piston on the 200X is more of a flattop design giving you a bit more compression. The piston on the TRX200SX and TRX200 are the same.

As for porting and valve sizes.....all 3 engines are identical.

As for cams, the 200X is ofcourse the more radical profile of the 3 engines. The 200SX and 90-97 200 cams are slightly different in profile but not enough to make a difference in performance really. Both of them are a general use cam apt more for utility use than anything else.

The older 200 engines and the 1984 TRX 200 is an entirely different engine family than the 200SX engine so be weary if you are buying off the net or sight unseen from a salvage yard.

 

thanks i wanted to increase the performance so that i can follow my cousin on his 250x going up hills and such..i found out it is easier getting engine parts for the 200x....thank you and i greatly appreciate your response
