Clutch problems Need HELP!
Ok so. after hours of digging around on forums and searching here.
I dont know what to do.
Heres the problem. I got a 96 300ex for free from a relative. with clutch problems.
after he did a clutch job, the clutch will not disengage.
At first I thought he was missing a washer behind the trust bearing buteverything is there..
Heres where Im stumped. the outter pressure plate wont seat fully into the clutch basket. It looks as tho there is a clucth plate missing. But its got all 6 fiber and 5 metal...
Ive sat here and slowly rotated it numerous times now and cannot get it to fully seat..
Also when I thighten up the main center nut that holds the clutch on it Locks up. With the nut loose the clutch will spin as it should...
When I look closly at the clutch plate asembly ( both inner annd outter pressure plates) the outter plate doesnt sit flush against the ledge on the gear shaft...
now this is With out the springs bolted on.
Could someone post a picture of the clutch basket, Im wondering if he changed it and bought the wrong basket...
considering nuthing i do will get the clucth to spin with the nut tight..
BTW this is like 200th clutch I have done. so I know what Im doing. Just this ****** is being a royal pain in the A$$
Thanksin advance
