How to mount winch....
#1
I just bought a 2500 lb warn winch for my 07' foreman ES, and was wondering how everyone is mounting it. I don't want one of those mount kits that sticks it out in front of the bumber, I want it tucked inside the frame. It came with a 6" x 8" piece of metal, can I use that to mount it. Or do I need to get the mounting kit for the foreman?

I'd get a mounting plate specific for your machine. For what a nice, powder coated commercially made mount plate with all the hardware costs, it isn't worth it IMHO to fabricate one yourself.
I used a Warn mount on my Foreman, but on the Rincon I thought I'd try a KFI. I was impressed with the quality, and it was quite a bit cheaper.
Generally, it has tabs bent on the back side so that with longer bolts it can bolt to where the front sub-frame attaches to the main frame, then it has some U bolts and nylock nuts to ancor the front part. It also has a bend at the front, to provide a place to bolt up the fairlhead, so just the fairlhead sticks out the front.
Installed, it ends up looking like this.
