have an 05 trx 450r kick start no battery..lights and fan will not work, but do if i jump them to a battery, it runs fine but no lights and suggestions

 

uh, the fan isnt supposed to be on all the time on the 450R - it's thermostat contralled - only when reaches hot temp and not enough airflow thru the radiator is how it is designed to work.

the lights, maybe bulb? switch, wiring somwhere if it NEVER comes on??

 

yes i know but the guy i bought it from said that its never come on, honda shop says the two are wired together somehow

According to the wiring diagram there is a black wire coming from the light switch that is tied into the cooling fan motor, the carburetor heater, the rear brake light switch, the temp indicator light and the front brake light switch.

 

Your fan motor is controled by the CDI which gets it's signal from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
Does your brake light come on at all? When you put the foot brake on or the hand brake?
All of these components get their power from the same lead.

 

I gave all these tests over a week ago did you do any of them..?..
