Hey, I think im gonna buy a new 400EX and im not sure if i wanna get red or yellow, i was just wondering if anyone ever tried putting the red seat and red side panels on the yellow 400ex, send me any pics youve got

i would get the red 400ex, and get maier yellow plastic and red side pannels. you then have a spare set of plastic, can get a used one cheaper, and dont have to get a seat cover. oh yeah, i personally think honda's yellow is too dull. good luck and post some pics whatever you decide to do!

 

There are no factory red side panels. Honda plastic has a shine to it, whereas Maier is molded different, so it doesn't "shine" I had factory red, Maier blue, and now I have Maier white. Factory Honda plastic is cheaper than Maier.

 

Me personally....."Ride Red" But who cares what we think, get what you like and be proud of it. Good luck.

 

Just picked up my yellow 01 400EX on Friday and man I love it. Sounds stupid but i waxed it sat night after her first 3 hr ride.

if you use mop&glo on maier fenders i have heard they look shiny like the stockers. the aftermarket red and yellow looks sweet.

 

I love the new yellow 400ex. If I had to get a red one I would put a black seat cover on it. that is what makes the yellow one look so good. Either way the black seat is the way to go. 99 300ex RCM header and pipe, prm bumper and grab bar, ohtsu M/R rear, alloy series nerf bars, K&N filter and Jet Kit with no airbox lid FMF seat cover Graphics on the way.

 

I put yellow on mine simply because all I seen was red,then Honda came out with yellow!Check out my link and you will see what yellow and red looks like with 250r graphics.Page and site are under construction so not much ther yet.
