Default 300ex Wiring Question

Whats the green wire under the hood..

My quad was (pretty sloppily) rewired by the previous owner.

I had to take my plastics off, put longer wires on, do some soldering and taping, to get my headlights all squared away,

I found low beam, I found high beam.. every thing else is hooked uo (reverse light / neutral light / key switch)

But there is an exposed green wire that wasn't hooked to anything, and everything
works with it not hooked up... What is this wire?

I clipped it clean so it wouldn't short on anything.

If it works, I would be tempted to leave er be. But it is probably a ground wire. Take a reading on it with the bike running, lights on/off etc. If there's no power, ever, attach it to the frame somewhere. It's a ground.

if everything works with it unattached, shield it with a piece of black tape, put the hood back on, and ride the heck out of it!!!!
