Default 100hr inspection

Guys,

I just took my 06 Rubicon in and had the first 100hr service done. Along with this I had the front and rear differentials changed as well as new break fluid and the idle adjusted. Labor ran around $75 an hour and the total came out to nearly $400. Does this sound right to you. I want to make sure that I did not get ripped off but it sounds kind of high.

Any mechanics out there?????

And what insures that all of the stuff was actually done?

You need to get a shop manual and wrench on your quad yourself, especially for basic maintainance

I'll take that as I spent too much money.

Unfortunately not all of us are mechanically inclined nor have the time it takes to do something like this. I personally like things done right and in a timely fashion.

I doubt your brake fluid needed to be changed. The diff fluid, oil and filter should cost about $35.The process is not complicated and if you had a manual you would see it should take between one and two hours on a Saturday afternoon. The more you tinker with your quad the more you will learn. Did not mean to sound snub.

Yeah, not trying to sound like a smarta$$, but I think they got you on the brake fluid. I agree with sled05 though. The more you tinker the more you'll learn. Simple knowlage proves to be priceless when on the trail.

I apologize for the fire-back. I could not agree more that a little knowledge does go a long way. The manual recommends the break fluid every 2 years and the bike is over 2.5 so I had it done.
