Default 2007 Honda rancher 420fm. Rear end popping.

Ok Yesterday I got on the ATV to haul some wood around the yard and its making an aweful popping sound in the rear end. It doesnt matter what gear your in or how fast you go, it pops really loud so i parked it. I dont know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I called the dealer and asked the service guy and he said it sounded like the U joint. Mine only does it when weight is on it. If I get off and walk beside it then I don't hear it. I haven't taken mine in to get fixed yet.

Mine does it all the time, even if I am just pushing it in neutral while its turned off.

Mine was starting to do the same thing after i put new tires and wheels. So called the dealer they told me they have not had any atv with that concern, I took mine apart and looked at it could not see anything wrong so i put it back together and noticed that the shaft moves back and fourth easyer than before. now its not making the noise.

Could be a bad bearing, or a sloppy u-joint in the rear shaft.

So where exactly is the bushing located in order for me to inspect it. thanks. Funny thing is the bike was fine when i last took it out and has been sitting for a month. Drove it maybe 1 minute and it started the symptoms. thanks alot for these replys.
