I just found out that the pipe on my 86 250R is off a CR250 and the silencer is off a 3 wheeler. It runs perfectly fine, but since the motors are different, is this ok to do? I just want to make sure. I know the silencer is fine though.

I'm not doubting you, but would like to see a picture of it. Do you have one? If so can you e-mail me one to:

i have never heard of it being done. but it should be ok. it might not make the most power out of a R would be the only bad think. and if you are asking if it will hurt anything (as long as you are jeted right) i would also like a pic if you have one. mr_quad@lycos.com

Does the pipe go around the left side of the engine and go back to the right?? I'm surprised and that would mean that a 500CR w/ its pipe could fit!!

ROLLpsi425R,

Probably a dumb question, but do you have the PSI perf 425 complete kit on your R? I am looking at doing a big bore mod to mine this summer and am looking seriously at the PSI 330 or 425 kit. I would like to hear how you like it if you do.

Thanks

I never even thought to check, but this guy that did some motor work for me was checking out all the pieces to my quad (in the preocess of powdercoating so its all apart) He picked up the pipe thinking it looked weird, and pointed out that its says "89 CR(a few scratched off numbers) 1929" It doesn't come out the left side. It does come out the right and isn't straighter like the pipes I've seen on R's. And no, I dont have a pic.

i do not have a psi kit. i think they would have a lot of vibs. they seme like a good kit and are not to expensive. also if you are planing on going with any of the smaller kits. i have heard they are not as good as other engine's.

My friend just put a 2000 CR motor in an R frame, he had to chop off the end of a new CR pipe, and chop the end of the TRX FMF Fatty pipe, and weld the CR end onto the Fatty pipe, just so that it would fit. Doesn't sound logical to me?
