I have a 2001 Rancher 4x4 with a Cycle Country manual lift 48" Plow. I would like to add a skid plate, but am concerned that they are incompatible. Has anyone got this configuration?

Also, is there any easy way to shift into reverse? Pushing that red button in the left brake handle is driving me crazy! Can I somehow disconnect it?

Do all ATV's have that lock-out?

Wont you lose breaking efficiency if you do this? Instead, IF YOU MUST, tighten the adjusting nut for the reverse button, it is the one below the brake adjustment. If you do this be very careful that you do not drop it in reverse while still moving forward.

going into reverse is a joke on the manual version with that red button, mind you the ES is a pain in the butt unless you have a hand the size of lennix lewis

I am 6'4" and I think the reverse procedure is a peice of cake. My buddy is smaller though and he loosened the selection box and angled it up a bit. now he can do the whole shift with one hand too.

Push the red button down, pull in on the handle, I used a small piece of a clothes pin and to hold the piece open so you don't need to use the button. Don't worry the tranny still won't go in neutral unless you are almost stopped just like before. I did this mod my first trip out.The best mod I did yet.
