Default Test rode honda 420 4x4

I just sold my 1999 fourtrax 300 4x4 and went down to the dealership and test rode one of the new ranchers with the foot shift. It was so hard to shift into third and fourth gear i had to use my hand, it seemed better after the first time i shifted into them but just wondering if this would be from a clutch needing adjusting, or if it is just something that would eventually work itself out. I'm going to be getting one on thursday afternoon and i might get the electric shift if the foot shift is always gonna be hard. Any help would be appreciated.

What you need to do get it good and broken in, and then do a clutch adjustment. But...I would say that overall it is a bit more "notchy" than the other Hondas. Is it miserable to ride, no way.

Just get an ES. I have one and love it. I ride dirt bikes and it's nice on a 4 wheeler not to have to foot shift.
