I was woundering if 440ex had any problems or any reason to stay clear of them. I heard about them blowing head gaskets and i was woundering how much they costed and how hard to replace they are. Thank you for your help.

 

It's because of the head studs I believe, and they also have heat problems because it is an air cooled engine I don't know about cost or repair.

 

So if you buy new head studs it will stop the blown head gaskets?

 

I don't think the stock ones would do it because that is 440cc bike that is only air cooled and you could melt the studs,I don't even know if there are after market head studs.

 

so if it is bored to a 440 the studs are usually changed.

ok well if any one could help me also if it has cooling problems is there some type of after marktet cooling system or something i could buy.

 

THEY MAKE AIR SCOOPS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO CHANNEL THE AIR TO COOL OFF THE MOTOR.

 

where do you get those and what do they cost?

 

YOU CAN ACTUALY FIND THEM ON EBAY SOMETIMES FOR VERY DESCENT PRICES.
