Gasoline and Octane

I would NOT run pump gas in your motor until you talk it over with your engine builder or the kit Manufacturer if your bike is 12 to 1 and your new carb is not set up rite and you run pump gas especially 87 you could have some major problems if you do go with pump gas run 91 minimum and start your jetting rich but I would not recomend it until I talk with the builder.
What I always do is take it to a good dyno shop and have it dyno tuned I have found this to be the best way to set up a bike especially if you just built the motor and put on a new carb it is well worth the money to know your bike is not running lean and you could find some hidden HP with a properly tuned motor.

Gotcha, I see what your saying now.
Banshee1201 I would be very careful. The learning curve is very stiff on detonation. If you don't believe me; just look at the picture of the piston on my profile page. This took about 4 seconds or so.
As usual, Tpsycho is giving you very good advice.

Thank you Doctorturbo. I always like to help out to the best of my knowledge.
Banshee1201 The shop I go to can usually tune a bike in about two hours max and it usually will cost about 150.00 but it is well worth the peace of mind and the performance gains you get with a dyno. Also you know what HP you are running but most of all your bike run's very crisp and in tune.

You need to find a good shop in your area that has a dyno. Maybe you can post where you live and ask people on the forum if they know a good dyno shop in your area good luck.
