Default 87 250r fuel filter

i have a fuel filter on my 250r my quad has an fmf fatty gold series pipe vforce 3 reeds 38 mm keihin carb and a stroker crank giving it a 301 displacement
i have one friend suggesting i take off the fuel filter because it can restrict the gas
i have another friend suggesting i leave it on
wondering if i could get some pros or cons of either choice
thanks

Pros, wont suck crap into your carb and plug it up.
Cons, it might restrict fuel flow depending on the size

For my 250r i bought a high flow filter from dennis kirk. Chances are i could have just used a regular one but i didn't want to take a chance since i had to buy a filter anyway. Take the fuel line off the carb and turn the gas on, this will show you how much fuel is flowing. You should be able to make a guess if it is enough or not.
