You will also beat a 500HO in every phase of the race! I've seen it happen! A local dealer really tries pushing the 4 strokes over the 2 strokes(obviously because of more money), so I played Mr. Stupid and asked which machine is faster. He claied the 400 wouldn't have a chance over the HO! That's when he offered to show me what the mighty HO could do. I took the 400, he was on the HO...I beat him off the line and kept pulling away! Now we know the HO will beat the 450es, so your 400 should absolutely destroy it!

Yeah, you didn't mention if realiability was one of your concerns. If so the 450-s should be your best bet, but I have to admit that the HO is also high on my list to consider. I will sure keep my Honda, and will try to sell the HO if it starts to sneezing. My 450-s, 13800 mi, not that many problems, dependable as dirt, not all that exciting, but hey!!love not having to wrench all the time. Been there and done the Polaris thing.

How often do you ride water and how deep? For the past 4-5 monthes if we have not been in rack deep we are traveling to the next rack deep water hole. When I say riding in water, I mean all the time and deep water. Take a look at my pictures to see what I mean. I have purchased some new seals and I will try the waterprrof grease, but I am not holding my breath on this one.

Throttle response has NOTHING to do with a drag race?
OH MAN,what are you talking about? The faster one can get his or her engine to respond to the flip of the throttle, the faster the engine will respond. The faster the engine responds, the faster it will transfer that power to the wheels.
So if it takes your engine forever to respond to the throttle, the slower your engine to wheel tranfer will be!
Now you still going to try and tell me throttle response has NOTHING to do with a drag race? Its not the most important factor in a drag race, however,it does play into it.
Read,and you shall learn,

Yes, I'll tell you that throttle response has nothing to do with a drag race. When you drag race you pin the throttle and it stays pinned. So except for the first 1/2 second or so it's not an issue during a drag race.
Trail riding, however, if a different story.
By the way, how do you find your Xplorer? I've been thinking about getting a new quad, and the Xplorer is pretty attractive considering performance, speed and price.
