I was just wondering. Most prefer the 88-89 length swingarm oppossed to the 86-87 length. Why is this? From my understanding, the 86-87 is about 1.5" longer than the 88-89, correct? If so, wouldn't the 86-87 be better for recreational riding and MX?

Why is the 88-89 length so popluar? I would think(if it is actually shorter) that it would be better for racing TT and the longer one would be better for the rest.

Can someone explain?

Thanks..

the longer swingarm would be better for trail riding and racing cross country but the shorter swingarm would be better for motocross because it would torn better and faster

The reason that the -1" is better is because, this will cause the quad to turn faster, because it is shorter. It also enables the front end to come up easier. That is the only real benefit. If you are going to race XC, i wouldn't worry about it unless you are going to get a new one-get the -1" swingarm.
