howdy lads am hoping you could help me out, i have just purchased a 1993 big red the problem is that i have no spark at all. its been stood outside for at least a year so i was thinking that it could be a coil pack? any one any ideas? also what are the two black boxes under the plastics at the front just below the handlebars? many thanks

 

 

thanks for the reply but after reading the forums a big red here is actualy a trx300 fourtrax over your side! so how do i test the cdi and the reg rectifier is it possible to test the cdi?

 

 

cool many thanks honda mech! gonna have a look at all this later kinda hoping it's something simple like a ground or the like. its been stood outside in the wind and rain for at least 2 years so was expecting some teething troubles but hey it only cost me about $400 to buy it

 

ok how dumb am i??? dumb enough not to notice that the rectifier has been removed at some point.... in the words of the wise oracle homer simpson.......DOH!!!
this would explain the lack of sparks......
