This is kinda bizarre, but if you want to go to the "original" Glamis it's in Scotland. It's a castle there and was the setting for one of Shakespeare's plays.
There are no other dunes like Glamis in the continental US of A. You may find bigger dunes (Dumont, also in Ca, maybe Sand Mountain in Id.), but you won't find as many (160,000 acres of which 70,000 are "open" area for riding).
Tell ya what. . ..
Save up your money and vacation time and make the trip on out. If you were a Muslim, wouldn't you do your best to get to Mecca at least ONCE in your life?? Glamis is my Mecca forever!

I talked some people from Texas into coming out to Glamis and camp with us. All Californians. The thing is, we're not the di**heads you all think we are, but then again, you may not be the thing we think you are either!!! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
The biggest problem with Californians is. . . .most of them aren't from here!!!

"Dude" don't get your panties in a ruffle. I was just tryin to start something cuz I'm at work on a friday in Chicago. I cannot judge californians because I have never been there but on the other hand you did give us LA/Hollywood ,thanks, anyways. Glamis is the mecca. It is the Vegas to our riverboats. And with that I'm outta here.
