300EX 10 years without problem - now...
#1
Have a 98 300EX that I have put through hell for the last 10 years and never had a complaint out of her. This weekend we loaded a deer on the front and I could not get the neutral light to come on and the starter switch wont work. Started her up in reverse and got out of the wood ok, but the switch still wont work and light will not come on. Is there anything simple that this points to or should I just start at the beginning and start tracing wires, fuses, etc...?

Had the same issue with my sons 01 trx250ex. There is a wire that is on the back of the motor that was loose where it connects to the trans. We just give it a wiggle and the light comes on. Then it fires right up. Best of luck!

Hi there, i have a 94 300ex. I have recently been having similar problems. Sometimes when i try to start it, it makes a slight clicking/shorting sound. I have had to replace the fuse a few times but that was mainly from the ignition wire grounding to the frame. After messing a while i jiggle the wires and it will eventually turn over. I think it is a loose connection/worn wire where it grounds and wont get juice to the starter.
