recon carb problem
#1
i have a 2004 recon that i can get to start, but you have to keep it reved up with the choke on and cant take it out when you ride it as soon as you do some times it runs for a minute or two but most of the time it just dies. So im think it a carb problem and want to know if they have a accelerator pump and if anyone has a diagram for the carb

here ya go. has it always had this problem? what are any other symptoms? check the fuel lines/tank/valve for obstruction. i got stumped for 2 months and 2 visits to dealer and there was junk in the bottom of the fuel tank, just fit the hole perfectly and if i rode my polaris hawkeye over 30 mph, the fuel supply couldnt keep up with the demand.
does it act like it is out of fuel or backfire whenever it dies?

if its a start up problem, full choke and lots of reving to keep it running, then your most likely to have trash in your carb and pilot jet. winter is the hardest time to start engines and if there is any amount of crap or gunk in your fuel system you will know in winter!
find a manual clean out your carb, and dont forget about cleaning your pilot jet!
