i just inbstalled a high performance clutch in my 400ex. and when i rode it the torke was weak, it actually had no tork at all. it was driving like a slow warrior. so they told me i had to tune the jets right.. i messed with them and now it wont turn on at all. can you help me with the right tuning for each screw in the carb? including fuel flow everything i just want my bike ruinning again.

Changing clutch should not warrant a jetting change. If you have not put on a slip on or header go back to stock jets everywhere. Believe 3 turns out on air screw. If it ran OK before clutch install and bad after clutch install than something in not right with the clutch.

what if i buy a edelbrock 440ex carb kit it comes with a 440 carb. can i just install it to my 400ex 2003 without having to tune anything. do i need to buy anything else before i put that carb on? or can i just put the carb on and it should work?

No need to buy an expensive carb. It's probably jetted for a 440cc piped EX anyway. Just install the stock jets, screw your air screw all the way in then back it out 3 turns. That should get you back to stock. I do not see why they would tell you to mess with the carb from a clutch change.

If you want to make it faster get an exhaust and a 3 dollar jet. A carb is not worth the price. IMO it's not worth a quarter of the price. The gain from just a slip-on will be much more than from the carb. Besides, that carb is designed for the highly modified big bore which will breath much more than your stock EX. I do not think it will run correctly. Almost positive it will be jetted incorrectly too.
