Well Recently I Have had a Problem with my Honda 300ex its a 2002 with electric start. So the electric start wouldn't work cause my quad would never have enough juice so every time i had to start it i had to use a battery charger. Once i got it started if it died i had to compression start it or hook the charger up again because the battery would never recharge while Running the engine. So i never complained about it just knew i had to get it fixed but today i was riding it and i parked it shut it down and when i went to start it back up. My Son might have Hooked up the Battery But Put Black on red and red on black. So i turned on the Battery charger and went to turn my ignition on There was no power at all no headlight no Neutral Light Nothing.
Wouldn't Start ect... Now Im Stuck and i have no idea what might be wrong and what i originally needed.


So Before I Thought all i needed was a new alternator but now i think everything's Fried If anyone could help that would be great thanks. On Maybe a Parts List and whats Wrong.

 

My brother has done that to me with jumper cables. Change the fuse and you should be OK. If that doesn't work you will need to check out all the electronics, b/c they are probably fried as you suggested.

Nevermind I Pulled the Seat up and found it but what about the problem starting it? Do i Need an Alternator?

 

Hmmm well I think maybe that may be the case, but you could try to grab a new battery first, maybe save some money.

 

Ive Done That Already I Wont Charge The Battery at all so when i run it it wont start back up if it dies went through 2 batteries or maybe i just overcharged them?>?

I'm honestly not sure if you need an alternator. Hopefully some of the more electrically and mechanically versed people here will chime in and try to help you.

 

I have a 99 trx300ex and had the exact same problem man. Wouldnt charge even with brand new battery. Make sure that both fuses are good and u are probably going to need a new battery. But check your pulse generator,thats what mine was. And make sure your stator is charging also,but sounds like your pulse generator has went bad. See if that helps.
