#1
I just bought a 1987 honda 250x from a buddy that had got tired of workin on it its just had a fresh powder coat job on the frame and had stator problems before getting the bike (restored) if you wanna call it that.SO he put a new/used stator on it ran for about 10 mins and has never fired since. We checked all of the stator wires there all getting fire also spark plug and plug wire and coil. Also there is no key just the kill switch that came on it. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

He said he had just got it runnin and took it down a field road and thats when it died but yea it just cut off he didnt go into any details about if it was cuttin out or doing anything out of the ordinary according to him just quit!!! But when i checked the stator i found that the flywheel had a little pinhole in it and a raised spot but couldnt see anywhere that it had rubbed and i when i checked the stator wires they were pulling anywhere from 60 to 70 volts.

i have a 300ex that did the same thing,i changed out the stator, pulse generator, rectifier (which just converts ac to dc voltage and nothing else) fuse box and fuses and it fired right up. Sounds like you simply have a shortage problem or your ignition system is jacked up. Will it even hit a lick?
