I have a TRX250 and want more from it. What will give me more power? Does anyone know of any specific mods that they used that will put out alot more power.
Thanks

The little EX is just a Recon is sport plastic, so everything in this post applies....

What about Borekits? I've seen them on the internet and its discribed as adding HP, Which is better a bore kit or jetkit?

A Bore kit actually makes your engine a larger CC, but my personal advice is DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on upgrading the 250ex, just save up for a new machine. I got an aftermarket filter, jets, and exhaust, and the increase was noticable, but it still bored me after a short time!!

The little EX is shaft drive, so it has limited suspension. You can make it go faster, but the suspension can't handle it. Plus, you bore it and mess with the engine internals, and reliability suffers. Do the basic inexpensive air intake mods, but otherwise leave well enough alone.

What tires you running? If it is the crappy stock ones, just putting on some good tires like Holeshots will go a long ways to improving things.

yeah, i have an 06 and i still have the stock tires on. im only 14 and I pay for all my stuff. so i didnt buy new tires when i got it, my stock tires are about to go due to the fact theres about no tread left on them, I was thinking about holeshots and Dunlop KT355H's because there cheaper. I dont have money to go out and blow on tires, so if you know of a cheaper tire thats still is really good, let me know. thanks.

On my 250 i did a dynojet kit with a K&N + outerwears an hmf pipe and removed the airbox lid, it really woke it up and made it twice as fun to ride for the right price
