Default red hot exhaust

ive got an 01 rancher (350) and when i ride it the exhaust coming from the engine glows cherry red. some one told me it was because the baffles in my muffler were clogged. i took the muffler off and was going to remove the baffles to clean them but cant figgure out how to. on some older bikes we have, there is a screw on the side, when removed they just slide out but i cant find anything like that on my rancher. any advice? my email is----- wezersworld@yahoo.com

Another potential cause is your machine running lean, causing it to burn hot. Clean out your carb with carb cleaner and make sure that you get all the jets well, good luck!

It is running lean. Riding at night with the cold air can cause this condition.

It maybe running a bit lean but 99% of machine's head pipes will turn red. You just can't see it during the day. At night almost all of them will do that. It doesn't hurt to make sure you are jetted properly. Get it at a good running temp during the day and see if you can see it.
