Default Auto shift or manual - 07 Rincon

I'm curious, I think the Rincon is one of the best Quads on the market, but I hate the auto shift. I only use the manual. A 5 speed would be nice. After 4500Mi. it feels best? Tell me how you feel.

The Rincon has a red headed step child of a tranny.

Here a video review of the Rincon ATV Television Test - Honda Rincon.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Silly transmision</end quote></div> they summed it up right there. Only 3 gears in auto and no low range like the better Honda 500 Rubicon tranny.

They should dump the Rincon tranny, and the Rubicon's (good performing tranny, but needlessly complex!), and go with the new 420AT dual-clutch in everything!

Thanks for the reply - I agree w/the test - By using the manual mode I'm able to get around most of the testers criticism. the belt drives on most of the other brands give better control. I till will take the other Honda attributes. Its cheaper to ride a Honda.

I've really learned how to manipulate the throttle so the tranny shifts when I want in auto mode most of the time.

Sometimes railing through fast sweepers, though, I'll put it in push button mode so it doesn't shift when I'm in the apex of the corner.

If they would have put a 5 speed with a low gear, or even kept the 3 speed and added a low range...

I agree w/ JeffinTD. I almost never use the auto mode. Maybe on a small cruise about 15-20 mph I will use it but, not very often. I wish the Rinny had a low gear also. I had a 02 Foreman 450 ES and I REALLY miss the engine braking on it. Also, the simplicity of the machine too. Thinking of going back to a foreman 500 ES/EPS model. Because I do alot of plowing w/it and tech. trail riding and it seems that it would come in handy.

My beef too. Just seems like they missed it when they didn't put in one lower gear. would sure be nice for slow maneuvering and pulling a load. always on the torque converter can't be good.
