I have a 86 trx 350 and was searching for parts on ebay and saw a weisco 12:1 piston that said it would fit a trx 350 and atc 350x. Now I have alot of questions, first has anyone tried this?? And if so can I by a big lumpy cam for an x and throw it in my trx?
I just got the quad and it burns oil pritty bad and has way less power than I figured. I had a 350 x and it had alot more punch than this thing.
So, I guess my question is... and has anyone tried.... a 12:1 piston, big cam, free flow exaust?????
And one more , will the "automatic" clutch hold up to the abuse?? If not, would the clutch side case and guts of a 350x bolt up to the trx???
Would that be cool, only kid on the block with a 4x4 and a manual clutch.... wind her up and dump the clutch hang the front tires??? All I can say is too cool!
Everyone I mention it to say I have to much time on my hands. And it would be a waist of time.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

umm sounds like it would be fun to have a manual clutch 4x4!!! but saddly i doubt it would work. ik alot of the ATC's are very specific and do not like to be mixed/mached with other ATC models, let alone a trx300. i found the 300 has a bit more power(IMO) than the 350. but i dont think i would go with a high compression 12:1 piston! just bore it out .20 over and slightly oversized weisco piston n rings. if its just burning oil then its an easy fix to have a VERY dependable atv
