I was going to take my chain slider off and clean it up a little but after looking at it, it looks like I have to remove the swingarm to get it off. Is that correct? That seems like a dumb thing to have to do just to clean or replace the slider.

well i went out and looked at mine and well the whole bottom of my slider is gone. lol... but i think even if its one peice you could slice it on the bottom part and slip it over the swing arm.

That's kinda what I was thinking. The aftermarket ones are split so I think you can just bolt them on without getting into the swingarm.

i fyou decide to leave the slider like it is ..put some blocks under the frame of your 250x so they lift the back wheels off the ground then you can leave the rear brakes intact execpt the linkage to the foot/brake pedal connectin to the rear master cylinder....then take off the nut on the left side of the swingarm bolt ...and pull out the swingarm bolt and rear brake pedal out the left side together ,and the swinger should drop down enough to change the top slider ..

Ok, thanks Y2dat. That sounds pretty simple. Maybe easier than trying to cut the slider because it's pretty tight quarters in there and looks like it may be a knuckle buster.
