Default newbie 2WD ATV question

hello all.
I have the opportunity to get a Honda 450r.
I want to do trail riding and some muddy stuff.
I know its a race bike and only 2WD, but does this thing have what it takes to do some real off roading?
Im only asking because i currently use another 2WD bike [85 Fourtrax 250] and it is quite competent in the woods.

anything i should look for when buying an 06 honda 450r?

thanks

my buddy has one, and it's ok in the mud, but we call my Polaris 700 the Honda recovery vehicle, I think you should be fine about 90% of the time, recently he took the holeshots off his 250 and put them on his 450, and it made a huge difference from the crap stockers

check the axle and wheels, make sure they aren't bent, unless you plan on getting aftermarket ones

unfortunately no. The CBR is booked at 5160 US, the TRX is booked at 4160.
They want to straight trade.
I dont want to have that big of a differential gap.
