I'm looking at getting a 1988 Foreman Trx350D. Can anyone tell me good or bad, I know I love my 00' 450 and I have a pretty good idea that I would love this one almost as much, but anything you guys can tell me would be great.

Can you tell me a little more about this fuel pump? The one I am looking at will run with starter fluid but won't start with out it. Now that a pump sounds like the usual suspect I can't help but wonder about it.
Thank you

Hmm starting Fluid. . .
sound like a bad Needle n Ceat. . . dirty float pin. . .Fuel filter plugging up pump working but to weak for the first hard start. . .
1.Fuel filter.
2.Carb Kit.
3.Fuel pump.
Whats a filter carb kit n pump she ran over 20years throw some cash at it and ride it another 10 or 20 years n retire it. . .Honda motorcycles live 35-45 years. . .
I;m sure there ATV's should last 30. . .

When the fuel pump went bad on mine, I first checked the dealer. There prices are outragus as usual. So took ride over to a local small engine repair shop and got a small electric fuel pump, it was an aftermarket piece for one of them zero turn mowers( the guy at the honda dealer said it wouldn't work, he said it would push to much fuel and hold the needle open) once again the guys at the dealer wrong again! this pump is smaller than the factory one and being for a lawn mower it really doesnt build much pressure, just gets it where you need it. I ran new wires from the battery to a lit rocker switch and mounted it next to the key switch then to the pump (lit switch so i remember to turn it off). Best thing about this setup, I turn the pump on, wait a few seconds, turn the key on, hit the switch and its running.
The best part
* lit rocker switch
* wire 14 gauge wire (what I had laying around)
* electric fuel pump from lawnmower repair shop
Less than $25

I've owned my 88 Foreman Trx350D for about 5 years.
When I first got it, I replaced the started $30 refurb on eBay. and had the valves readjusted.
Since then no problems, I even sunk it in a pond completely!
Ran 6 quarts of oil though it, changed the Fuel/oil filter. It started right up!
ZERO problems!
I'd highly recommend.
If the metal needs to be repainted, get it powder coated, which gives it an original factory new look that will last longer than regular paint.
I too live in Minnesota, and had my front and rear rack, pumper, hitch, foot pegs, skid guards, ect powder coated gloss black for $75 by http://www.extremepowdercoating.net/.
I dropped it off in the morning, and picked it up in the afternoon.

I have an 88 350D that generally runs strong. I took the cover off of the fuel pump and the contacts do not open. Of course the pump will not run. If I seperate the contacts there is a spark then they close again. The contacts were burned so I filed them a little. Still nothing. If I hooked the pump directly to a 12volt charger, I runs like crazy. Can this be a fuel pump relay issue or is the charger to much power at one time and the pump just shot? What brand Zero turn was the fuel pump for so I can get one if my pump is the problem?
