Default 420 plow setup?

i have a 2007 trx420fm. wondering what setup or even what size plow to use? it is my first atv and just thinking of putting a plow on it to get rid of the wet snow we get. i have seen the short synthetic rope you put on the winch (for plowing) is this a worthwhile product as well?

you can use alot of different sized blades, it just depends on how big of an area you are plowing to pick the right size blade. heres a link to rocky moutain they have alot of blades and blade sizes. http://www.rockymountainatv.co...ilter.do#vehicleSelect

I put a "cycle country" blade on mine and love it. I also got it with the handle instead of the winch, faster and easier for me. W ehaev got a ton of snow this year in Utah so I have got to have it!

Default 420 plow setup?

I put the Warn 54" on my 420 last year and it has preformed way better than I ever expected. My neighbor was so impressed last year that he purchased a 420 to plow his drive. I do have a winch but choose to use the warn electric lift and am completely satisfied. Figured if I ever got in a pinch, I still had the winch free to get out. A couple things I did do to help out was add a 70lb bag of sand to the rear rack and installed the Hi-Lifter front and rear lift springs (only for plowing), helps keep the front end from sagg'en so bad. I take them off for summer riding.
Since we have been well below zero this winter I went with the handle-bar, slip-on covers for added hand comfort. You won't be disappointed on what ever you get. The 54" on wider plow works best when angling the plow. Most of the brands are pretty common to each other. Good Luck

If you don.t already have a winch, I would suggest a MOOSE E-Z lift manual plow lift as an option. I feel it is much better than alot of other manual lift options, It is spring loaded to help lift the plow & the length of the throw is much shorter. just a thought.
