Rubicon vs Rincon

Jeffin, you obviously have great taste (mostly b/c you thought it was as cool as I did).
How many miles do you have on your Rincon. How does it do in the mountains you climb. I only ask because I have been unable to ride mine much. Just curious. I do like your picks. You ride some nice areas. Thanks

I don't really have that many miles on. The last year or so I haven't made an effort to go out and do the things I like to do, and as a result got myself too stressed out and burned out in work. I'm going to make an effort to make sure that doesn't happen this year. I did get some riding this winter in Arizona, but we flew, so I ran a borrowed Rubicon.
The Rincon climbs really well. It's suspension has an excellent smooth ride at fast speeds over rough stuff, while somehow not being wallowy like other IRS machines can be.
I do wish it had a low range, though, as I prefer to tractor down the "about to flip over forward" type of downhills the way the Foreman can, but the brakes work fine... A buddy of mine has a 650 and feels the machine is great the way it is and he would have no need for a low range. It probably depends on what other machines you have experience on.
Also this winter I upgraded from this 30' toyhauler...

To this 40' beast (plus a dually that would handle the pin weight),

So I'm really looking forward to being able to get out and use it. Hopefully I'll be able to sell the 30' one simetime soon. Having these two parked in my back yard gives the place a little bit of a banjo-plunk motief...

One other thing about the Rincon, I'd highly recommend adding a bumper. It doesn't come factory with anything protecting the front of the fender/headlight. A buddy of mine tagged a tree when we were flying down some really tight twisty trails, and it kind of tweeked things.
ATV Guru makes a great one. Warn, Moose and others make nice ones that are a bit cheaper.

Nice set up. You could drop the gate and I could drive my truck and trailer in there.
Thanks for the compliments, the trucks a 72 with 41,000 miles onit and the trailer is a 1969. I painted the trailer to match the truck.
When I try to imagine climbing with a Rincon it seems that it would "drive" right up what ever wanted. I can imagine how the torque converter would compensate for not having a low range.
