ok i just got a 2002 400ex and i heard that the frames have week spots in them a


is this something i have to worry about?

in know they have the gusset kit but is it worth all the hassle of welding it in and then getting it painted

i guess what i am asking is it a major problem, like if the frame broke in one of the week spots would i get hert

 

I am 255 pounds on a skinny day. I have been beating the hell out of my 2000 model year 400ex since Feruary of 2001. The frame has 2 small cracks where the valve cover mounts to the frame, right under the fuel tank. Those cracks have been there since the stroker crank, in 2003. I have hit a tree and ruined both A-arms on one side and that didn't hurt the frame. I think you should be good, but it wouldn't hurt to look at it once in a while.

 

I belive the gussets arn't neccessary ,unless your doing the big jumps .
