Default 400EX oil prob

hey guys i've got a 2007 400ex i just recently went to check the oil and when i removed the dipstick it was completly dry. my quad has been sitting in the same spot in the garage now for about 3months solid and there were never any puddles from any leakage occuring..the last time i rode it had oil in it and it rode fine so my question is what could i do to see if theres actaully oil in it? could the oil just have settled down into the case because it hasnt been moved or rode in so long?

That is what happens on the 400ex's. Crank it over for a few seconds and then the oil will pump back into the tank. It sucks to have to start it before checking the oil.

On these dry sump engines, the oil goes and hides somewhere when it sits.....
