Default Honda 400 rancher clutch?

I got a buddy that is looking to upgrade his clutch on a 06 honda rancher. He's putting the hmf utility pipe and a jet kit on. Plans on putting 25" tires on as well. His girlfriend has a 350 bruin and beats him on the wide open runs. If you have any other ideas on how to make sure he don't lose to her/ He'd appreciate it,

Thanks
Kris (and Andy)

This is the Rancher 400AT automatic, I presume???? What exactly do you mean by "upgrade his clutch"??? The trans is a non-serviceable sealed unit, and while you may be able to get to a clutch somewhere, I am not aware of any "upgrades" that are out there...and it is hard to imagine how that is going to help him gain any power.

Honda only built it for a couple years, then discontinued it....probably for some good reason. There are always a few posts in here from folks having problems with them...and they have a reputation for being underpowered, on the bottom end. Big tires will just kill this thing.....

Interesting. I don't know a thing about his bike. I guess he don't either. Someone probably told him to get a clutch kit for it. I'll be laughing when I tell him this.

Thanks Recon

Belt drive guys sometimes do clutch changes for more performance. Who ever told him that, probably was thinking belt drive......
