Isn't that what this is for to help others. If you are just viewing and not replying is there any reason why? Is your advice to valuable to share over this forum? These people come here because they are looking for answers help them out a little. It will pay off in the end.

I will still maintain that for mechanical issues, one needs to consult the owner's and service manuals first, before coming on the forum with a question. If for everybody's edification, you want to share what your issue was, and what the solution you found in the manuals was, that is great. Or, if you consulted the manuals and still are stumped or have come up with several different possible options, coming on here then is appropriate.

Another huge issue is titles. A title should pretty much sum up what your post is about. When a title says something like "please help" or something non-descript, of course most folks aren't going to even bother looking at it.

I certainly understand that the title should be descriptive to attract attention. I am new to this I titled mine 02 250 recon need rear-end help and got 33 views but not one reply. My problem was the bearings had been through everything imaginable and I could not get them out couldn't even get the O clip of the ring clip out. Finally did get them though and my rear-end is back together. I just bought the bike a month ago pretty well ragged out but it was a fresh rebuild: new sleeve, piston, rings, wrist pin, rod, and bottom end bearings. I bought a new factory sticker kit for it painted the racks with Dupli-Color spray in bed liner. I am replacing the back brake cables tomorrow then gonna mount my new fender supports, put the plastic back on (I had to get a new right heel guard, new gas tank cover), apply the sticker kit, then put the rack back on it. I also got the registration through the BMV so I can ride to the gas station and trail to trail legally on the road. I got a new set of Scott Hurricane grips. I bought the bike off the boy that bought it new I've known everything about the bikes whole life he put a DG pipe on it and it blew it up. So I should be done with it tomorrow. I've taken pictures of the progress and I will post them on here

Nowhere in there did you say you consulted the service manual! When you had trouble with the bearings, were you consulting the manual for the correct way to get it apart??? Lots of times you will need a special tool or things need to come out a specific way, and if you don't have a manual to tell you that you are SOL. And, if you have a manual and you still can't do it yourself, well take it to the dealer.

For me, I am more interested in routine maintenance issues (like oil chemistry), and quad design and handling, so I don't usually ever even read mechanical type posts...sorry!

that's cool I cannot find a manual for the bike like I said I just bought it I have the Haynes manual for the Foreman but can't find it without ordering it offline (I'm gonna have to go this route) there is nowhere around here that carries Haynes manuals for four-wheelers which I think is crazy but thanks for your input anyway!

jhodge242004 they are kind of hard to come by even from Dealership's i've had trouble finding them locally , Auto Zone , Advance carries a few of the Haynes manual's but only a very few at that ; i bought one that covered the Honda TRX 300EX and 400EX and one for a few Polaris ATV's but when i asked if they could order other brand's like my 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto 4x4 they said no !

And my Dealership told me that she would have to order one for my Cat , but she's a good freind i have known since she was 4 yrs old ; she told me if i ever need a manual that she would let me borrow her master O.E.M. factory Service and Repair Shop Manual to just drop by anytime !

But i really want to have my own manual i can keep and have handy for whenever i need it without having to drive across town to borrow her's , even though it's only 4.2 miles away's from me ; she said she would order one for me at her cost and i think i'll go this route unless i can find one online that doesn't cost more than what she can get it for me !

I found a good site on the net that you might get an O.E.M. factory Service and Repair manual that's suppose to be the same one the dealership's use , www.repairmanuals.com i've checked it out before and they carry them within 6 to 8 month's after a new quad/model is released to the dealer's ; i think it would be worth a shot !

Good luck and i hope this help's , and welcome to the forums !.........

Sometimes, those views may be from a moderator just checking the forums. If I had experience with any of the threads I'm checking, I'd be apt to throw in my .02. But not having owned that particular model, I would not post.

No answer can be better than the wrong answer.

just cuz your post might get a bunch of views doesnt mean they were all from people that are members and can post replies.... we got a lot of lurkers here too! you are a recent joiner how many times did you read and not reply before joining?

We try and help out where and when we can... Me personally I would rather get no replies than a 100 telling me a bunch of different things that would be an utter waste of my time.

Also, if someone posts a question who's answer isn't easily found in the service manual, there are times that I don't have any useful suggestions or ideas. If so, I don't usually post.

I do wish people would put a more descriptive title on threads, what the problem is and what the machine is...
