Honda has the Rubicon (automatic tranny) or the Foreman 400's or 450's (offered in S (auto clutch, but you shift) and ES (auto clutch, electric shift). All are great bikes, and equal or close to the Sportman series (he ducks, awaiting the impending ire of Polaris owners). Notice I said equal or close, not neccessarily better (that's gonna differ from person-to-person). I also believe the Sportmans are great machines. Don't forget the new Kawasaki 650 Prairie (V-twin, Auto tranny) sport-ute.

Don't be stupid!
Honda has gone downhill in recent years with the rubicon and use of junk materials and designs(1998 and newer dirtbikes)!
Do the smart thing and buy a Polaris!

opinions vary but...anybody want to buy my scrambler so i can get a real quad?? and what did honda do in 1998 that made them junk? the only thing is they made the cr125 aluminum framed. they went downhill in 97 lol. as far as motocrossers go they are about all the same anyways. the only major difference is the rider position(bars, seat, and some have a goofy looking front fender) basically it all depends what you like.

I'm guessing Scramdaddy and gonnagetya either A:
Grew up too close to power lines of B: ate A LOT of lead paint.

Which is it?

trolls.

Ride them both and YOU decide which is best. Look at their warranty policies as well. look at expected maintenance intervals. It's your money, no one elses.

Jeez, I own a Rubicon, and I recommend that he consider that bike, along with the Sportsman and new 650 Prairie. Then some goofball spews some anti-Honda venom, and then you (Need4Speed) question the type of response he will get in a Honda forum? Gee, how could I have been more fair. I think the Ruby is an incredible bike, but so are the others. Ultimately, it comes down to preference, price, and pants. As in plant your pants on all the seats, take them for a spin if you can, and pick the one that you feel the most comfortable on (along with the other criteria).

If you like the idea of greasing grease zerks, the smell of burning belts, and an engine that whines like it's owner get the Polaris, you won't be disapointed.
