Default will these valves alway tick?

So I bought my Foreman 500 ES from my local dealership used w/ 2800 miles. Runs great, but once the engine is warm, the valves were ticking bad enough I wanted to adjust them to quiet them down. I did it by the book to .006" w/ slight drag, blah, blah, blah. As soon as they were done, w/ the engine warmed up good, they still can be heard. Are they not adjusted right if they still "tick"? Or will they always be like that? Engine runs great, but I sure would like to quite down the valves. Any suggestions?

Hondas normally make a little mechanical noise...

If it is obviously more than normal noise, maybe worn rockers, cam chain tensioner, or sticky link in the cam chain?
