'87 250x...Pegs or Nerf Bars?
#1
Okay so i just recently purchased an '87 250x and i love it, but someone has half assed a set of junky nerf bars onto the frame. I am wanting to replace them but dont know if i would like pegs or new bars better. Anyone have any input? And also the bike hesitates a little in the beggining of each gear. It has an uni filter with no air box lid, and a cobra slip on. Could it be that the previous owner never jetted the carb? Or is there something else wrong? Thanks Ryan.

i have dg nerfs and so far they have been pretty tough. i'v slid into acouple tree's and they came out fine with no dents. could be your carb needs a good cleaning. but if you want to check the jetting here is the stock info....main 125 pilot 35 third groove on the needle.

Ive been looking at some sets of DG bars, and i think that is what im goin to go with. As for the hessitation i am goin to buy a new lid and seal for my air box(it was all gone when i bought it) And i am goin to buy a new k&n air filter, but does anyone know where i can get a jet kit for my carb. I am new to the whole 4 wheeler world and im learning as i go. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Ryan.

I just bought a set of Tusk nerf bars, waiting for them to ship to my house. I was in a similar situation where I didn't know what to do about nerf bars or what. I have a thread on here asking about nerf bars and a lot of people were saying dg's are really nice but I didn't have the money so I bought Tusks which for the price you can't beat them! I have heard some good things about them also. I hope they hold up to what everyone has been saying about them!

i get my jets from my local honda dealer. usally main jets are around 3 bucks each. around the same for pilot jets if you need one. but like it was said try putting the air box lid on and see how it is.
