I have a 02 ex that was just gone over completely and had a few tings done to it by a honda dealer(bearings, oil, plug, filter, broken bolt, oil, etc) I just recently noticed its smoking a bit. If i stop completely and rev it it smokes during rev...Im not sure if it does it wen i ride but would this be a sure sign of rings or do honda dealers use some sort of odd oil tht makes it smoke or what? Please help me out im 14 and i really like this quad. I just hope its not rings...But PLEASE be honest on what you think...Thanks for the help!

 

Kind of blue smoke, smells like burning oil?

Smoking on rev up I would think could indeed be rings. It may run fine for a long time if it just a slight haze.

 

Is it possibly running rich? I know when I was dialing in the carb on mine it would smoke if it was running rich.

 

It is white smoke...And i just realized it was on reserve while i was riding could tht be causing it to run "rich" and smoke?
