Default 1987 250ex

I was going to get a warrior but it fell through so I found a 250ex 87 mod it needs the top end rebuilt but its cheep. Is this an alround good machine or are they just slow I had at one time a 92 model are there a difrence or what can I do to it to beef it up ect.? Can you put parts off difrent models on this or just stuck with the 250 stuff.

there decent reliable trail bikes, and yea they can be modded a little bit, but there really not all that fast, if you think youll be wanting something faster later on then you would be better off with trying to get a 400ex.

There was not 250"EX" in those days. What if is, is probably a 250X (kick start, right). Now, Honda goes and calls what use to be the 250EX the 250X...so that is going to cause a lot of confusion.
