I've been watching this thread and I'm not sure of a few things here. One, does it start and run fine? Two, the idle speed has nothing to do with the choke so I don't quite understand the question. If you choke it and it starts, that's a good thing isn't it? And once it starts, if the idle is too low, (after the choke is open and the bike warmed up), go ahead and adjust the idle. Chokes on Honda are not technically chokes where they close off air. They are called Fuel Enrichment Valves (don't ask me how they work or how they are different than chokes). I don't think they affect the idle speed at all. At least on mine it doesn't.

It stays running, nothing changes.

When I turn the choke on with my last 400EX and my 450R the bike ran at a higher RPM, as an example once the bike is running and I engage the choke the rpms increase.

My choke didn't change the idle at all before I removed it and my EX is only two months old, so I'm pretty sure that's normal.

The bike runs ok but I normally have to start it 3-4 times and I have to play with the throttle.

Two, the idle speed has nothing to do with the choke so I don't quite understand the question.

Once again if you start your bike and you engage the choke your rpms will increase and with this quad that doesn't happen.

If you choke it and it starts, that's a good thing isn't it?

I start it w/o the choke because engaging it doesn't do a thing.

And once it starts, if the idle is too low, (after the choke is open and the bike warmed up), go ahead and adjust the idle.

It idles fine once it warms up.

Chokes on Honda are not technically chokes where they close off air.

The ones on the 400 have a butterfly that closes when it's engaged so I'm not sure I agree or I'm not understang your statement.

When you engage the choke on your bike the rpms don't increase?

That's odd I could have sworn that on my last 400 it did, I know that the bike needs to be re-jetted so it would be nice if that's all it was.

If I choke mine after it's started and warm, it stalls. But if I choke it to start it, the RPM's aren't any higher than if I start it without the choke.

Hmmm..... I just took the bike to the shop to get it re-jetted and I asked them to look at the choke.

What is was saying was that is normal, you have no problem. Choke is to enrich the fuel when its cold, so it gets enough fuel to stop it stalling. Increasing the rpms to warm the engine up is something completly different.
