Default JB weld & gas

I had a pin hole in my fuel strainer. It is that small cup under the gas line between the tank and carb. I cleaned it out really good on a lathe and then put JB weld in the bottom of the cup. Will this be gas proof?

It worked but I should warn people that there is a small tube that goes all the way to the bottom of that cup. So, after the JB weld sets up, you will need to drill a hole into the JB weld that's a little bigger than the tube so the tube has clearance when you put the cup back on. I'm not sure what the tube does. Anybody know?

I think that is either the main or idle curcuit fuel pickup. Guess more than sure knowledge.

I don't think it's a fuel pick up. It is at the bottom of the fuel on/off ****.
