bi-claws?? any good?

Ask Gordon Banks. He has them on his 450es and I think on his 300 fourtrax as well (though the 300 has a big bore kit and would turn them better than stock).

If you look on this same forum under "Honda" and then "Honda 300 4x4 (General)" you will find alot of discussion and information about Bi-Claws vs. Vampires for Honda 300 4x4's. I am still trying to make this decision myself (and I am probably leaning toward the Vampires at this time - although that could change since I don't really need them until November 15 or so).

WHAT ABOUT TRI-CLAWS??????? No one ever talks about them it's always bi-claws. Aren't the tri's supposed to be the more mudding type tire?

I have now read several articles on "claws" vs. "Vampires".
One Article I read stated that the Bi-Claws do not clean as well as the tri-claws. Also, it appears that the bi-claws are not that much lighter than the Vampires in the same sizes - where the real weight difference comes in is in the real wide Vampires (i.e. 12 in. wide). I think 12 in wide Vampires weigh 8-10 pounds more than the 9.5 in. Vampires). I could be wrong, but that's the way I read it. Bear Claws also appear to be pretty heavy - but no one ever seems to worry about their weight.
I am about 99% sure I am getting Vampires in 24x9x11 and 25x9.5x11 (hoping that the narrower back tires will solve alot of the weight problem since there is a big difference in the weights of 9.5 vs.12).
By the way, the Article was in the Spring 1998 issue of ATV magazine - it didn't have a "winner" (which I thought was ridiculous) but recommended the following for pure mud (in no particular order): vampires, tri-claws (with bi-claws on front), bear claws and goodyear mudrunners. (I was very surprised at the Bear Claws for pure mud)
