Question 1993 300ex starting problems.

I am having starting problems with my 1993 300ex.I have already searched the site and did not get any real for sure answer.Hear is what it is doing.Sometimes it starts and sometimes it dont.It sounds like the startes just spins and wines till it engages and starts. There used to be a grinding/clunking noise coming from it for a while till it started not engaging in.Is it the starter or is it something else.I read that it could be a spring inside the cover on the engine that broke but want to make sure before i tear anything apart. Thanks!

sounds like a starter clutch problem or something, whatever engages the starter to turn over.

Well it wont work at all now.All the starter does is spin and wont engage at all.Pulled it apart and cleaned the brushes and the rest of the starter and all the gears that i could see in the motor looked good.So it must be something down further.Could it be this "Your one way bearing has failed. There is a little band spring in them that break . It makes starting hit or miss ".If so what is the part number and or price on this thing and is it a hard fix.Right now i am just push starting it.
