Was wondering if anybody has tried the 2 ring piston from JE. I use 2 ring pistons in my car but never in a 4wheeler.

 

By 2-ring you mean one compression and one wiper?

I am not sure what the Honda quad engine uses stock, but all 450 dirt bikes have just 2-rings on little slipper pistons. It is one of the basic characteristic of 450 "thumper" engine design. This isn't your dad's 400EX!!! Some required reading:

(Not sure what the quad uses, because I am proud to say that my 450r is an 04 and has never needed a rebuild! Doesn't hurt to run the best oils one can find folks...Redline and Maxima)
